Introducing Functional Fluency
Functional Fluency is the art and skill of interpersonal effectiveness. Susannah Temple coined the term in 1996 to mean those positive and flexible ways of responding to each other that help us to communicate well.
Functional Fluency is about our social "response-ability".
The Functional Fluency model illustrates a range of fundamental social behaviours. It provides a framework for learning how to build positive relationships.
The following diagrams show how the model is constructed, using the formal terminology.
There are three levels of construction.
Level 1 - Level 2 - Level 3 - Mode details - Special features
The Functional Fluency model is available for download as an 8-page PDF booklet.
